The construction of the main part of Simutasi Hydropower Station is in full swing

On Feb 8, 2010, a contract on the power generation system of the dam and outlet works of Simutasi Hydropower Station was signed in Yichang, the headquarters of China Gezhouba Group Co, marking the construction of the station’s main part was comprehensively under way.

To achieve its strategic goal and enhance its investment benefits in the hydropower field, the company invested in and constructed the Simutasi Hydropower Station in Ili, Xinjiang.

Located in the middle and lower reaches of 136.4km-long Akeyazi River, the station is designed to have the installed capacity of 110,000 kilowatts and 838 million yuan ($138.04 million) is planned to invest in it.

CGGC Ili Hydropower Development Company assumed the investment and construction work, and held a cornerstone-laying ceremony for the station on Aug 28, 2009.
