Huaqiao was granted the title of “2011 model city of sound living environment in China,” by The State Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction.

The economic development zone is exemplary in its modern service industry for the Yangtze River Delta Region. It has been authorized by the Jiangsu provincial government since Aug, 2005 and is listed as the model project for the service industry in Jiangsu province.

Since 2006, Huaqiao has been devoted to building an international high-level modern city with local characteristics of southern China. After more than four years of development, it has become an ecological residential city.

Model Prize of Sound Living Environment in China was established in 2000 and is the highest award in the national environment construction field. It awards those that strive to improve the living environment of human beings.
