Muyuan Foods Co Ltd

Founded in 1992, Muyuan Foods Co Ltd is a Nanyang-headquartered agricultural and animal husbandry enterprise, which integrates pig breeding, slaughtering and processing. The company ranks first in Asia in terms of its scale of hog rearing.

Over decades, Muyuan Foods now has 84 wholly-owned subsidiaries and two shareholding companies. As of Dec 31, 2017, it was capable of producing thousands of hogs, slaughtering 1 million pigs and processing nearly 5 million tons of fodder annually.

The company spearheads the Henan province in a shift toward an ecological agriculture by converting hog manure into biogas, which will then be used as fertilizer to be applied in plantation bases. For that, Muyuan Foods is designated as a pilot unit for circular economy by Henan Province Development and Reform Commission.

The adopted quality assurance and traceability systems allow the company to monitor the whole process throughout the raw material purchase, fodder processing and pig raising. It is listed among the first batch of quality safety demonstration zones for export produce in the province.
