The city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, has seen a breakthrough in exports of its mechanical and electronic products, which exceeded $1 billion worth in 2012, for the first time in its history, marking a year-on-year increase of 26.81 percent.

Exports of these items account for 40.2 percent of the city's total exports, also a record for the same period in past years. This will contribute significantly to the optimization and improvement of the city's export business overall.
