The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Southwest China's Sichuan province sent two giant pandas to Guiyang on April 12 for a three-year science publicity and education program.

In order to ensure that the pandas are well taken care of, Qianling Mountain Park has arranged professional panda keepers, vets and security at the newly built panda base which covers 10,736 square kilometers and cost a total of 38.02 million yuan ($6.04 million).
The base is equipped with air conditioners, food processing machines and medical devices to ensure the safety of the pandas.

The panda base has set up an experience area, exhibition area and activity area to help educate people about the majestic bears. Lectures and activities will be held as well.
Qianling Mountain Park, located in the northwest corner of Guiyang, is an ideal place for residents to enjoy nature and relax. The park was built in 1957 and is home to more than 1,500 species of trees and flowers.
