Chen also shared that he was planning to further develop his own business to take advantage of the city's growing tourism industry.

"More and more people are paying a visit to Pingtan, and this is bringing us increasing business opportunities," said Chen.

Pingtan, a group of more than 100 islands in the Taiwan Strait, has gradually become a popular travel destination in recent years as the local government has sought to take advantage of its unspoiled natural landscapes to build itself into an international tourism island.
