Located on the northern coast of Luoyuan Bay, a shipyard is under construction and is due to be finished at the end of this year with a maximum fixing capacity of 250 ships per year. It will become the largest shipyard within the area of Fujian Province.

Luoyuan shipyard will become the only one standing between Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province and Zhujiang River in Guangdong Province, the largest dockyard within this area. Covering 1,200 mu, the Luoyuan dockyard will involve 4 docks and 7 parking lots in which the devices and facilities needed for ship-fixing and ship-building have been equipped there.

RMB 2 billion have been injected into this project. The purpose of building such a yard is mainly to repair ships. Its establishment will attract the ship repair industry in Chinese Taiwan to relocate itself in Fuzhou, China.
