Abstract: China is a major textile country with a complete textile industrial system, which plays an important role in the global textile industrial pattern. However, it needs to be noted that the development of links of China’s textile industrial chain are not balanced and there are some shortfalls to be addressed. For instance, high performance fiber, high-end textile machinery and industrial textile still fall far behind that of developed countries. Under the influence of international trade environment and rising domestic factor costs, some links of the textile industrial chain are moving out of the country at a swift pace. As a traditional superior industry in China and the most potential one to become one of the world’s manufacturing powerhouses, the textile industry needs to speed up addressing the weak links in the industrial chain, perfect the industrial innovation system and standard system, accelerate the growth of intelligent manufacturing sector, strengthen the cultivation of professionals, stimulate the consumption potential of domestic market, expand the industrial demand, optimize domestic industrial layout, and guide enterprises to make outward investment in a reasonable and orderly manner.
