China is currently experiencing a critical period of energy transformation, with new energy and new formats continuing to emerge, and the international oil prices remaining at a low level. We need to seize such an opportunity to accelerate the development of China's natural gas industry. This book aims to exemplify the current performance of China's natural gas development and the target for its future development, and illuminates the development strategy and policy approach of natural gas, in order to pool the strength of all quarters and build up consensus for the rapid development of China's natural gas.

The book is divided into four parts. The first part focuses on the current development of the world's natural gas. The second part is about the development of China's natural gas. The third part deals with the prospect of China's natural gas development. The fourth part mainly elaborates on the strategic position, development path and policy approach of China's natural gas.

This book is jointly written by the Bureau of Oil and Natural Gas of National Energy Administration, the Research Institute of Resources and Environment Policies of DRC, and the Strategic Resource Center of Oil and Gas Resources of the Ministry of Land and Resources. Due to limited time and knowledge, some mistakes and errors in this book are unavoidable. It is hoped that readers will not spare their comments and stint their criticisms.
