Zhang Junkuo, Vice-President of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), met with Robert P. Aspell, CEO of Cargill China, on Jan 26, in Beijing, where Zhang gave a general description of the DRC and his views on China's current economic situation, and Aspell introduced Cargill's China business and prospects.

The two spoke about cooperation by DRC's Department of Rural Economy and Cargill China and about research cooperation that will begin this year. Ye Xingqing, director-general of that department, and Ma Zheng, vice-president of Cargill China's business affairs, signed a research memo of deepening strategic cooperation between China and its major agricultural partners. Taking part was Cargill China's senior manager of the corporate responsibility dept.
