Resource aggregation capacity is a professional competence of platform operators who integrate various strategic resources to satisfy the need of platform development. It consists of different abilities as a kind of organization ability. It plays an important role in building a platform's commercial ecosystem and acts as a core to support the sustainable development of platforms.

The capacity of platform resource aggregation requires professional cultivation and improvement, in addition to a guarantee system, including a trusting and cooperative culture, professional institutions, and a motivation mechanism. Apple's i-platform is a successful example that shows the essence of resource aggregation.

The concept of resource aggregation capacity has some implications. First, platform operators should strive to develop their platform resource aggregation capacity. Second, platform operators need to change their attitude of emphasizing platform building while ignoring resource aggregation capacity.
