A research group, led by Cheng Guoqiang, research fellow, Zhang Hong, vice-director-general of the DRC’s Information Center, and Hou Weining, vice-director-general of the DRC’s Information Center, conducted research concerning health economics in Wenchuan county, Sichuan province, from July 4 to 6.

The group aimed to get a closer look at Wenchuan county’s measures and practices that were intended to build a sort of “health demonstration county”.

They hoped to find ways to improve the healthcare sector and to put forward recommendations on law making.
