Extension of stay

Where the duration of stay needs to be extended, the visa holder shall file an application with the exit-entry administration of public security organ under the local people’s government at or above the county level in the place of his stay seven days prior to the expiration of the duration specified in the visa, and shall submit information of specific application matters in accordance with the relevant requirements. If the extension conditions are satisfied, such extension shall be granted, but the length of extension shall not exceed the original duration of stay specified in the visa. For instance, someone applies for a visa to the Chinese visa-issuing authority stationed in the country where the applicant resides with a stay for 30 days, the accumulated length of extension applied in China shall not exceed 30 days.
