When a team from Harvard University introduced the first completely soft-bodied robot, dubbed "Octobot", to the public last year, it ushered in a new era of robotic possibilities.

Since then, Beijing Soft Robot Tech (SRT), has been specializing in developing its own soft-bodied robots, featured from Sept 15 to 21 at the 2017 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week in Beijing.

The company's soft-bodied robotic gripper made of flexible materials can copy a human's grasp as delicately as that of a real hand. Its fingers move flexibly to catch different sized and shaped objects. The gripper can be widely applied across a range of actions and movements, even able to grasp easily-worn items.

As a highlight of the company's products, the gripper can be widely applied in carrying easily-worn products.

The robotic gripper can be customized based on each user's demands. SRT claims that it will be popular among various fields of intelligent assembly, automatic sorting, logistics warehousing and food processing.
