Zhongguancun Science Park achieved a total profit of 226.48 billion yuan ($36.26 billion) last year, a year-on-year growth of 26.6 percent, according to the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, Beijing Daily reported on Thursday.

Enterprises, as a key element of the park, have made great contributions to the ever-growing profits of Zhongguancun. Meanwhile, industrial clusters in the fields of rail transportation, integrated circuits, biological health and new materials also grew rapidly. They all achieved a year-on-year increase of 20 percent in total profit last year.

In addition, export growth of Zhongguancun enterprises hit a new high in 2013. The park generated 33.62 billion yuan in exports, increasing 28.5 percent year-on-year and accounting for more than 50 percent of Beijing’s total exports.

Zhongguancun Software Park?– a sub-park of the Zhongguancun Science Park, which covers an area of 2.6 square kilometers?– achieved a total output value of 121.3 billion yuan last year.
