The organizing committee of 2018 Changchun Film Festival released the specific arrangements for the event at a press conference in Changchun, Jilin province on Aug 30.

Moviegoers will be able to enjoy the exhibited movies of the film festival in more than 20 theaters in Changchun throughout the festival. With the aim of contributing towards the development of movie industry in China, the 14th Changchun Film Festival will organize various activities including music concerts, fans meetings, film exhibitions and forums, in order to draw attention to and raise the profile of Chinese films.

As one of the country's most widely publicized and most influential entertainment events, the festival has also set up several initiatives this year to encourage movie production in China, such as the fostering of promising young directors and producers through a series of exhibitions on short films.

The jury is made up of seven judges, including Huo Jianqi, a distinguished director and Su Youpeng, a renowned movie actor. It holds the sole responsibility of deciding the winners of the 10 awards, including the Best Feature Film, the Best Young Director and the Best Young Actress.

Winners of the Golden Deer Award, the most prestigious award given at the festival, will be chosen from 15 shortlisted movies, and the results will be announced on Sept 8.
