App to help young designers

The mobile phone app Yupen was launched recently to help discover and nurture young, independent designers. Its creator Qin Liyun (pictured center) aims to help designers promote their work through internet marketing. Ten designers will be selected for the first round, and they will get a funding of 250,000 yuan ($37,500), which they have to use to create around 50 pieces of work in two months. The creative process will be broadcast live on streaming site Douyutv.
