Web help for going under the knife

People who want to have plastic surgery do not dare to admit they have gone under the knife, and often refuse to discuss the procedures publicly.

Many people have limited access to accurate and useful information about the service they want, while many service providers are operating illegally or not qualified, Jin adds.

According to Chinese laws, operations hospitals and clinics conducting plastic surgeries must be registered with health authorities.

At first, the website was designed to sort plastic surgeons into different surgery categories and rank them based on a comprehensive evaluation of their education, experience and so on.

Jin thought the website would be a great reference for visitors to choose a doctor, but to his surprise, the feedback wasn't favorable.

"Patients don't care much about who their doctor is, as long as the procedure is successful and satisfies them," Jin says.

The website then started to focus on collecting reviews from people who had undergone plastic surgery.

To ensure the authenticity of reviews, all users are required to attach photos taken before and after the surgery in their review posts. Details of the surgery and recovery process are also required.

Posts will be removed immediately if they violate any rules.
