How do you tell her "I love you" this Valentine's Day? With diamonds. With perfume. With flowers.

Let's face it, the shopper needs to only turn on a television orflip opena magazine for inspiration.

But when it comes to finding the perfect gift for men, the process requires a little more work, a little more creativity.

"I think you have to know your guy. You have to know who you're dealing with," psychotherapist and lifestyle coach Stacy Kaiser said.

"It should be about what they want, not what you think they should want."

It can be a difficult finding the right gift. It can be a token or expression and, most important, heartfelt, psychologist Joyce Brothers said.

Here are five things that say "I love you" to that special guy you want to be your Valentine.

Gadgets: Kaiser said gadgets, electronic or otherwise, are the No. 1 gift for men, such as a video game system, a flat-screen television or a LCD photo frame.

Lingerie: Often viewed as a gift for her, it really is a gift for him, said lingerie designer Mary Green. "Men seem to have very specific ideas about what they like on women," she said.

Functional: If a man is a sports fan, buy tickets for the two of you to go to a game, Kaiser said. Or if he enjoys cooking, buy him a gift for the kitchen.

Gimmicks: The best gift, relationship experts say, is not always store-bought. In many cases, a simple gesture can say "I love you."

Consider a romantic gesture, such as a foot rub or body massage, Brother said.

Say it with words: Brothers said buying a card on Valentine's Day is not the way to say "I love you." She said the giver should write a romantic note to include in the card. Better yet, she said, tell the man how much you adores him.
