The latest addition to a collection of Christmas ornaments at Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's home this year came from American first lady Laura Bush, and the Abes enjoyed a cozy dinner on Christmas at a singer friend's house, according to a blog recently started by Japan's first lady.
Akie Abe, 44, launched her official blog "Akie Abe's Smile Talk" with anentryon November 21 chronicling her trip to Vietnam accompanying her husband to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.
"It was my first visit to Vietnam and also my first time to attend a wives' program. I was thrilled with anxieties and anticipation before leaving Japan," she wrote.
She posted a picture of a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and aclose-up photoofa golden bulbwith a painting of the White House, the gift from Laura Bush, on her first Christmas at the prime minister's official residence.
"My husband had a Cabinet meeting in the morning, but returned to the residence for lunch and we had porridge. I'd like to spend the day relaxing," Akie said in her December 24 entry, with a picture of her husband reaching for food at the table.
While support for the prime minister has recently declined, the public remains generally fond of the first lady, a former DJ and the daughter of a former president of one of Japan's leading confectioners, Morinaga & Co.
Recent public opinion polls have shown that support for Abe's government has fallen to about 50 percent from almost 70 percent three months ago.

日本第一夫人安倍昭惠近日在網(wǎng)上開了個博客，看過這個博客的人一定知道，安倍夫人不久前收到了美國第一夫人勞拉·布什贈送的圣誕裝飾品；圣誕節(jié)那天，安倍夫婦在一位歌手朋友家享用了一頓溫馨晚餐。
今年44歲的安倍夫人開設的個人博客名為“安倍昭惠笑談”，在11月21日的首篇日志中，安倍夫人講述了她陪同丈夫參加在越南舉行的亞太經(jīng)合組織首腦會議的感觸。
她在文中寫道：“這是我第一次去越南，也是我第一次參加‘夫人團’。去越南之前，我激動不已，對此行充滿了渴望和期待。”
今年是安倍夫人第一次在首相官邸過圣誕節(jié)。圣誕當天，安倍夫人在博客上貼了一張掛滿裝飾品的圣誕樹的照片和一張帶有白宮圖案的金色圣誕球的特寫，這只圣誕球是勞拉·布什送給她的圣誕禮物。
昭惠在12月24日的日志中寫道：“丈夫早上開完內(nèi)閣會議后，中午回到家和我一起吃了粥。今天是圣誕前夕，應該放松一下。”她還在文中附了一張安倍首相吃飯時伸手拿食物的照片。
雖然安倍晉三首相近來的民眾支持率有所下降，但第一夫人仍然是人氣不減。曾當過電臺主持的安倍昭惠是日本知名糖果生產(chǎn)商森永制果前任會長的女兒。
據(jù)日本最近的民意調(diào)查顯示，安倍政府的支持率從三個月前的70%下降到了50%左右。
