博士生短期科研訪學(xué)

項(xiàng)目簡(jiǎn)介

受大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯(lián)合王國(guó)商業(yè)、創(chuàng)新和技能部與中華人民共和國(guó)教育部委托，英國(guó)大使館文化教育處和中國(guó)國(guó)家留學(xué)基金管理委員會(huì)共同設(shè)立博士生短期科研訪學(xué)項(xiàng)目，以支持中英兩國(guó)高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)之間的博士生交流。

本項(xiàng)目將資助中國(guó)或英國(guó)博士研究生前往英國(guó)或中國(guó)開展為期3-12個(gè)月的學(xué)習(xí)或訪問。在博士研究生派出期間，強(qiáng)烈建議其導(dǎo)師對(duì)接收機(jī)構(gòu)開展一次短期訪問，這將便于導(dǎo)師與對(duì)方國(guó)家的同行交流認(rèn)識(shí)，也有助于他們了解學(xué)生所處的不同研究背景和遇到的問題。

本項(xiàng)目將優(yōu)先支持以下科學(xué)研究領(lǐng)域的博士研究生交流:

? 健康/生命科學(xué)（例如：艾滋病病毒/艾滋病、瘧疾、肺結(jié)核、被忽視的熱帶病、兒童死亡率、孕產(chǎn)婦健康）

? 環(huán)境技術(shù)（例如：氣候變化、綠色技術(shù)、可持續(xù)發(fā)展、生態(tài)系統(tǒng)服務(wù)、資源短缺問題）

? 食品和水安全

? 能源

? 城鎮(zhèn)化

? 有利于推動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展，提高民眾福祉的教育和創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)

須提醒申請(qǐng)人注意的是，申請(qǐng)人需自行與計(jì)劃前行的接收機(jī)構(gòu)確認(rèn)訪學(xué)安排。所有訪學(xué)必須在2017年12月31日之前完成。

申請(qǐng)人資格

中英雙方申請(qǐng)人均須為博士學(xué)位在讀學(xué)生。中方申請(qǐng)人必須來自能夠授予博士學(xué)位的單位，中方接收院校必須具備接收國(guó)際學(xué)生的資格。英方申請(qǐng)人必須來自在以上支持領(lǐng)域擁有一流研究成果的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)。中方申請(qǐng)人必須符合中國(guó)國(guó)家留學(xué)基金管理委員會(huì)規(guī)定的申請(qǐng)條件，并應(yīng)具備良好的英語水平。

PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grants China-UK

About this opportunity

The UK-China Joint Research and Innovation Partnership Fund (known in the UK as the Newton Fund) PhD placement programme is delivered by the British Council China and the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and China’s Ministry of Education.

This programme is a sponsorship opportunity for UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend a period of study of three to 12 months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China or the UK. The focus is on research areas that reflect the common interests and demands of both countries, including:

? health and life sciences

? food and water security

? environmental technologies

? energy

? urbanisation

? education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare

Please note, applicants must find a host institution in their target country and placements must start between January and December 2017.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to UK and Chinese nationals who are currently enrolled, as PhD students, at accredited higher education institutions or research institutions in the UK or China respectively. UK students studying for their PhDs at institutions in China and Chinese students studying for their PhDs at institutions in the UK are not eligible.

UK PhD applicants should be from UK institutions with strong research record in the six areas of focus (see the first section on this page). UK applicants should be UK passport holders. Candidates of other nationalities must hold passports from countries that have diplomatic relations with China.

Host universities in China must be eligible to admit international students.

The application process closes at 12:00 pm GMT on 20 September 2016.
