這周末最轟動(dòng)的娛樂八卦，莫過于王寶強(qiáng)發(fā)離婚聲明了，對(duì)此小編想說(shuō)，萬(wàn)萬(wàn)沒想到啊。今天咱們就來(lái)看看，英語(yǔ)里怎么表達(dá)這種“萬(wàn)萬(wàn)沒想到”的心情。

今早讀到這樣一段話：

backfire這個(gè)詞大家應(yīng)該知道什么意思（不知道的話查下字典），除了知道這個(gè)詞的意思外，我們還要能把它和一些類似的表達(dá)聯(lián)系起來(lái)。不拘泥于中文翻譯的限制，想一想在某個(gè)情景中“還可以怎么說(shuō)”，這樣的話我們用起來(lái)會(huì)更加靈活。

例如“萬(wàn)萬(wàn)沒想到”這層意思，我能想到以下這幾個(gè)表達(dá)：

我們可以說(shuō) "totally unexpected", "didn't see that coming", "out of blue" "backfired" "blindsided"

找了一些資料和大家分享一下。主要目的并不是學(xué)這幾個(gè)表達(dá)，而是想傳達(dá)如何“從一個(gè)詞出發(fā)聯(lián)系更多的詞，用英語(yǔ)學(xué)英語(yǔ)”這個(gè)思路。

If you never saw/didn't see something coming, it was totally unexpected.

1. Sometimes an event or circumstance takes us by surprise. Often, the untimely and premature death of celebrities (or loved ones) shocks us, because we never saw it coming.

2. When the ending of a movie turns out way different to what we expect, we call that a twist (in the plot). The storyline is designed in such a way that we don't see it coming. Can you remember a movie that turned out completely different to what you imagined?My example: The Prestige.

3. Do you know someone whose husband or wife cheated on them? I'll bet they never saw it coming.
男人偷腥時(shí)，智商僅次于愛因斯坦。

4. If something happens "out of the blue", it happens quickly and unexpectedly. If something happens out of the blue, you don't see it coming. It appears from “out of nowhere”.
“來(lái)自藍(lán)天”就是“鬼才知道是從哪冒出來(lái)的”，天好好的怎么就下起了雨？好好的為什么突然就和我說(shuō)分手？

5. If any plan or scheme (especially an evil one) doesn't work out the way someone expects, we say their plan has backfired. They didn't plan for it… and so, they didn't see it coming.

6. If someone is blindsided, they are attacked or hit in their "blind spot". They didn't see it coming. If someone takes you by surprise, especially in a competition or a game, they blindside you. You are caught by surprise or caught unawared.

She has said that she felt blindsided; there were no risks, no warnings.
她說(shuō)她覺得這一切都太突如其來(lái)毫無(wú)征兆了。
