Prudence: Good morning, Your Highness. Your Highness!

Cinderella: Ready for breakfast? How does a cheese omelets sound?

Prudence: The princess is missing! You! You, girl! Have you seen the princess?

Cinderella: Good morning, Prudence.

Prudence: Oh, I thought you -- But those awful clothes! Well, I - I didn't recognize you, Your Highness. Allow me to introduce your ladies in waiting. Beatrice and Daphne.

Beatrice：Pleased to meet you.

Cinderella: You're just in time for breakfast.

Beatrice：Breakfast? Ooh, with toast and jam?

Prudence: Your Highness, a princess never prepares her own meals. That is not how things are done.

Cinderella: There are rules about breakfast?

Prudence: Of course there are rules, Your Highness. But it's certainly not your fault... that you don't know the traditions of the castle. That's what the king expects me to teach you.

Cinderella: I'm sure I can learn it in no time.

Prudence: Mm-hmm. Come along. There's no time to dally. Just do as I say, and everything will be fine. The king would be horrified... to find the hostess of the royal banquet dressed like a scullery maid! A princess must be attired like royalty.

Cinderella: Do I have to wear this all the time?

Daphne: Oh, of course not, Your Highness. You'll need something much more formal for dinner.

Cinderella: Couldn't I just wear one of my own dresses?

Prudence: Very amusing, Your Highness... but it simply isn't done.

Cinderella: It's such a beautiful day. Why don't we open the curtains?

Prudence: No, no, no! These curtains are never opened. And certainly not by a princess.

妙詞佳句，活學(xué)活用

1． Highness

這里的highness 可不是“高”的名詞詞性，意思為“陛下，殿下”。那么在日常生活中還是可以用到它來講一些俏皮話，比如說：遵命！就可以是：As your command, Your Highness.

2．Done

Done的意思有很多，可不只是do的過去分詞那么簡(jiǎn)單。
A. Having been carried out or accomplished; Finished:
結(jié)束的；已經(jīng)被執(zhí)行或已經(jīng)被完成的
A done deed.
一件完成了的事
B. Cooked adequately.
煮熟的：燒得恰到好處的
C. Socially acceptable:
合乎社會(huì)規(guī)矩的：
Spitting on the street is just not done in polite society.
在街上吐痰，這在文明社會(huì)里是不得體的

在這里的，done是第三種意思。

3．Dress

Dress 作動(dòng)詞時(shí)有"給……穿衣服"的意思，作名詞時(shí)有"衣服、禮服"的意思。有個(gè)常用的短語是dress up，意思是"盛裝"，比如：
They dressed up and went to the prom.
他們盛裝去參加舞會(huì)。

4．Wear

這可是個(gè)超級(jí)詞匯，因?yàn)樵谟⑽闹兴闶且粋€(gè)萬能詞了。比如說，我們通常所說的穿衣服wear clothes，戴帽子wear hat，搽香水wear perfume， 戴眼鏡wear glasses，背書包wear schoolbag等等都是用wear 就可以表達(dá)的。
