Couturier Chen shows collection

Chinese-American couturier Grace Chen showed her 2017 spring/summer collection in Beijing on Dec 10. Inspired by the beauty of feathers, the collection features dresses and gowns that combine Western cutting and Chinese embroidery. The show also included a children's section where they walked the runway in their own designs.

Model contest winners crowned

The 2016 Rayli Model Contest was held in Beijing earlier this month. Themed "Color Your Style", a total of 17 models were selected from eight cities in China to compete in the national final. Three of them were crowned winners.

Italy's Golden Goose hits Beijing

Italian brand Golden Goose Deluxe Brand opened its first China boutique in Beijing early this month. Located in Sanlitun, the store stocks garments and shoes. Meanwhile, it also launched a limited edition tailored for China. The brand plans to open a store in Shanghai next year.

Marie Claire holds annual style event

Fashion magazine Marie Claire held its annual Marie Claire Style China in Beijing on Dec 9. Every year, different brands are invited to create garments inspired by Chinese culture. This year, it showcased 18 pieces from brands like Dior, Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton and Fendi. All of them highlighted traditional craftsmanship.
