The oldest men's clothing chain in the US, founded in 1818, Brooks Brothers has outfitted 30 of 44 American presidents and a galaxy of Ivy league graduates and students. Its Madison Avenue store is also the place where Ralph Lauren started his first job. For its winter and autumn collection, the fitted tweed blazers and coat, in various colors and patterns, strike a good balance between tradition and trend.

This pull-over knit is not only arguably the hottest preppy-style item of 2014, but also a bestseller in the category of knitwear. Detailed with a deep plunging V-neck, the signature item from Rag & Bone, a newly founded American brand with a focus on fundamental pieces, offers a sexy touch to the otherwise conservative preppy style. The three initial colors, white, grey and black, have sold out on many retail websites, but a new color, Marsala (a rich reddish brown), the named color of 2015, is on the way.
