Volunteers from a local hospital in Handan city, Central China's Hebei province, work with children who suffer from autism, teaching them about animals, April 1, 2013. Autism is a neural development disorder characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. Early behavioral or cognitive intervention can help autistic children take care of themselves, and gain social and communication skills. April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day.
