First inter-blood-type liver transplant in China

Wan Jinqiang and his son recover after going through an inter-blood-type liver transplant operation at the General Hospital of Armed Police Forces in Beijing on Nov 12, 2012. The 15-hour operation that finished on Tuesday is the first case of a transplant between different blood types. Wan, with AB-type blood, had to risk his son's life to have part of his own liver transplanted to the sick boy with B-type blood.
