          Netizens' view on biased reporting
          (chinadaily.com.cn)
          Updated: 2009-07-10 15:02

The following are some selected posts submitted by China Daily website readers on their thinkings about some western media's biased reporting on the riots in Urumqi, which left 156 people dead:

          Aussie

I read The Australian and Sydney Morning Herald reports about the riot. I notice the subtlety of words used to give support/sympathy to those hideous rioters and terrorists. Somehow, the news are more concerned with the rights of these rioters/terrorists than the crimes against the innocents citizens get caught in the scene! How irresponsible it is for these reporting agencies to show this biased news!

I am truly ashamed of our new agencies. Unbiased reporting is only a fair dinkum way to readers irrespective of country involved!

I'm watching at how Western media make their own story regarding this riot and make a library from it.

As usual they have their own motive, twist the story ,to their thinking, make a good journalism. For them anything that's anti China is their bread and butter and good journalism. Enjoy while you can!

Rebuke the western media for calling this a peaceful protest. If a peaceful demonstration starts to kill people and destroy properties, it is not a peaceful demonstration. Security forces ought to have more outposts. Police in the immediate area should respond and call for reinforcements. Fast and strong respond is the key.

One thing is for sure, if the riot had happened in the US, a "crack down" would have happened and the media there would do their best to justify it and praise it.

You may also notice how the western media is already trying to make this a muslim/Non-muslim thing which I feel is totally the wrong thing to do.
