George Clooney got depressed when he put weight on for his role in 'Syriana'.
The Hollywood heartthrob piled on the pounds to play CIA agent Bob Barnes in the movie, for which he was named Best Supporting Actor at this year's Oscars.
According to close friend Matt Damon, Clooney quickly got fed up of being plump on set.
The 'Good Will Hunting' star revealed: "George is a really active guy and normally the life of the party.
"But he had to just sit there and it made him really depressed."
Clooney has previously revealed he got so fat no-one recognised him while he was shooting the film.
