          Hardy hatchback

The Peugeot 206, made by PSA Peugeot Citroen's venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp, was launched last month. The Hatchback 206 has a 1.6-litre, 16-valve engine, and retails for between 86,800 yuan (US$10,700) and 108,800 yuan (US$13,400).

The venture's 2006 sales target for the 206 is 35,000 units.

          Triumphant debut

Citroen's C-Triomphe, also produced by PSA Peugeot Citroen's venture with Dongfeng, was unveiled on February 18. Equipped with a 2.0-litre, 16-valve engine in China, the C-Triomphe will hit the market in May.

Prices will range from 180,000 yuan (US$22,200) to 220,000 yuan (US$27,200). The venture hopes to sell 50,000 units this year.

          Grand Voyage

The Grand Voyager, imported by auto giant Chrysler as its 2006 MPV (mini passenger van), hit the Chinese market in Beijing last month with a 398,000 yuan (US$49,000) price tag.

The MPV features advanced Stow'n Go seats and deposited systems to enlarge inner vehicle space. Chrysler says it sold more than 1,000 2005 Grand Voyagers in China last year, but refuses to reveal predictions for 2006.
