Most HK women expect to bear two children: survey
A latest survey shows that nearly 60 percent of Hong Kong women expect to bear two children while nine percent expect none. As the Mother's Day (May 8) is coming, the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong (DBA) conducted the survey to raise social concerns about the special day. According to the survey, 16.5 percent of the interviewees wish to have one child, 10.9 percent three and 4.7 percent more than three. Among those who have no child yet, they are more inclined not to bear a child or bear just one child. Nearly 40 percent of the respondents agree that their decisionson bearing a child rely on two conditions: whether they have time to take care of the children and whether they are economically strong enough to raise them up. Over half of the respondents said they stopped working because of bearing children. Over the recent years, more and more young couples choose not to bear
