"Nemo" leads foreign box office ahead of 'King' arrival
          ( 2003-12-17 16:32) (CRI.com)

As the world awaits the opening of "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in the next few days, "Finding Nemo" dominated the international scene for a fifth consecutive weekend, hauling in 31.5 million US dollars from 26 countries. With a foreign haul of 330.2 million dollars, the hit cartoon becomes the fourth Disney title to cross the 300-million-dollar mark at the overseas box office, joining "The Lion King," "Armageddon" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."

Other titles bringing in crowds before the arrival of "King" are "Love Actually," "S.W.A.T." "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" and "Elf." No new significant releases are being scheduled this coming weekend in markets where "King" is booked, the exception being "Peter Pan" in Australia, where the finale of the Peter Jackson-directed saga moves opens the following week.
