A research and development (R&D) center for aerial rescue equipment, the first of its kind in China, was set up by the China First Aviation Industry Group Corporation here Monday.

The center is the result of the integration of three manufacturing or research bodies, concerned with aerial rescue equipment, according to company sources.

While focusing on aerial products, it will also develop safety equipment for automobiles, surveillance balloons, gliders and air-conditioners.
