China welcomes cooperation on military electronic products
          ( 2003-11-05 00:02) (Xinhua)

China will be glad to see cooperation between domestic and overseas companies in the field of electronic equipment for military application, Zhang Zhijie, vice president of the China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), said at a press conference Tuesday.

The cooperation will be a win-win pattern bringing business opportunities to overseas companies and new concepts and mature management to Chinese companies, the official said.

According to Zhang, an international electronics exhibition will be held in Beijing next May.

The 4th China International Defense Electronics Exhibition ( CIDEX2004) is likely to become the biggest of its kind in the nation, said Xue Tingting, board chairwoman of the China Electronics International Exhibition and Advertising Co., Ltd.

The show space will be 10,000 square meters and the items on display will include telecommunications systems, information systems, computer and network products, military electronic components, air traffic control communications systems, fire control products, radar systems, electronic support and reconnaissance systems and related equipment and testing systems, said Xue.

Zhang, CEIEC vice-president, said that electronic technology, with its further application in the defense field, would be a vital factor in future wars. CIDEX is expected to provide a valuable opportunity for strengthening international exchange and cooperation.

CIDEX began in 1998 and the third exhibition was staged last year, when over 200 companies from the countries including China, Israel, Germany, the United States, Britain and France were involved.
