Chinese vice premier meets with IFC leader
          ( 2003-10-20 21:35) (Xinhua)

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju met with Peter Woicke, executive vice-president of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and his party Monday.

Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the Chinese government will adhere to the policy of expanding domestic demands and continue to implement the pro-active fiscal and stable monetary policy.

The Chinese government will actively advance the economic restructuring and deepen economic reform including that in the financial sector, so as to maintain the steady and healthy development of China's economy and finance, he said.

The vice-premier also spoke highly of the services of the IFC in China, expressing the hope of keeping deepening and widening the areas of cooperation with the IFC so as to accelerate the reform and development in China's economic and banking spheres.

Extending thanks for China's support to the World Bank and the IFC, Woicke said that the IFC's investment in China's western region and cooperation in China's banking sector have been fruitful and he hoped for enhancement of its cooperation with China.
