More color TV sets being exported
          ( 2003-10-19 10:35) (Xinhua)

South China's Guangdong Province exported 10.44 million color television sets with a value of 800 million US dollars in the first three quarters of the year, both more than double the figures for the same period last year.

Sources from Guangzhou Customshouse said the province exported 1.88 million color TV sets worth 130 million US dollars in September alone, both record highs. The province exported color TV sets to 136 countries and regions.

The United States was Guangdong's largest market, taking 1.83 million sets worth 150 million US dollars from January to September, both surging dramatically from the same period last year, said a customs source.

Guangdong has been designated a pilot for China's reform and opening-up drive and has benefited the most from the campaign. It is one of the country's economic powerhouses and a major global base for processing trade.
