          On September 21, 1909, Feng Ru made a successful test flight of the self-produced plane in Oakland, US, the first plane manufactured by the Chinese.

          In August, 1910, Liu Baocheng and Li Baojun, funded by the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) Government, set up aan aircraft manufacturing hangar in Nanyuan, Beijing. They also built China's first airport there.

          In September, 1913, China's first aeronautical school - -- Beijing Nanyuan Aeronautical School was established, headed by Qin Guoyong.

          On March 31, 1922, a passenger plane crashed, killing all the 14 people on board. This was the first traffic accident in China's civil aviation.

          On January 1, 1927, the flight master of the Guangdong Aeronautical School made China's first aero parachute jump on the graduation ceremony of the school.

          In September 1964, the H-5 bomber was finished in the Harbin Aircraft Industry Co. In April 1967, the company began to produce the bomber in batches.

          On January 17, 1966, the test flight of the J-7 fighter was successful and the production in batches began.

          In December 1979, the self-developed J-8 fighter was developed and was delivered to the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army for trial inthe the next December. In 1981, the air force was armed with the fighter.

          On April 8, 1980, the PL-3 air-to-air missile was developed and put into production in batches.

          In December 1981, the PL-2B was born.

          On August 23, 1983, the first fire balloon of the New China made a successful test flight. The pilots were Liu Liancheng, Hao Dongshan and Song Maosen.

          On June 12, 1984, the Shenyang Aircraft Industry Co. produced the J-8B fighter and Qu Xueren made a successful test flight on the fighter.

          On February 18, 1986, the Beijing Aeronautical and Astronautical Institute (current Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics) test flied China's first fire aeroboat - Bee 6.

          On September 4, 1986, the PL-5 missile was developed and could equip the J-7 and J-8 fighters.

          In April 1987, the PL-7 missile passed the technical checkup. Eight months later, mass production of the missiles began.
