Excellent PLA units and individuals in fight against SARS commended

Four general headquarters/departments of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) issued a circular May 5 commending the units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the fight against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

Six units and 32 individuals from the PLA and the Armed Police Force were named in the circular, which was issued jointly by the PLA's General Staff Headquarters, the General Politics Department, the General Logistics Department and the General Armaments Department.

According to the circular, these units and individuals were highly lauded for their fearless spirit, lofty professional ethics and selfless devotion in the prevention, treatment and scientific research of SARS epidemic.

The circular called on all the servicemen, especially the medical staff and researchers, to fully implement the important thought of the "Three Represents", and learn from the honored units and individuals so as to make greater contributions to the final victory in the battle against SARS.
