Hong Kong female doctor dies of SARS

A female doctor who worked in Tuen Mun Hospital, New Territory, passed away due to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) Tuesday morning.

The doctor contracted SARS when treating SARS patients and was hospitalized on April 3.

Secretary for the Civil Services Joseph W.P. Wong said if the doctor's family wishes the government will arrange for her body tobe buried in the Gallant Garden.

"I believe we're all saddened here by the death of the doctor in Tuen Mun Hospital. She has given up her life in taking care of the SARS patients. I'm sure we will all show our greatest respect to her," he said.

Earlier this month, Lau Wing Kai, a former nurse of Tuen Mun Hospital, was buried in the Gallant Garden after he died of SARS on April 25. Enditem
