Fuzhou honors excellent teachers

This capital of the eastern province of Fujian held a ceremony Sunday to honor the 10 top headmasters and the 10 best teachers of the city to mark Teacher's Day, that falls on September 10 every year.

Each headmaster and teacher was given a bonus of 5,000 yuan ( 602 US dollars).

A top municipal official said the selection of the top 10 headmasters and teachers will be held every other year to promote teachers' sense of responsibility and the education quality of the city.
