Two women from the Dong ethnic group perfect a large mural painting, in Dudong township, Guangxi Sanjiang Dong autonomous county, March 17, 2013. Since 1988, residents here have been using indigo and traditional ink for their color pigments, and tree branches for paint brushes, to depict their colorful folk ways and customs. For the last over 20 years, these unique paintings have developed into more mature woks of art, and now attract many visitors and collectors from around the world. In 2012, the farm life paintings in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region were listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. [Photo/Xinhua] |
