Top festival gives short films awards

The First International Micro Film Competition of the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival was held in Beijing on Tuesday.

The event was organized by China Film Association and Beijing Asia Film Production and Distribution Co. It is regarded as a good stage for outstanding directors, cameramen and actors to demonstrate their talent.

According to the organizers, the competition received more than 7,000 entries from China and abroad — more than 6,000 works submitted by universities, and about 1,000 from government and business organizations.

More than 200 works were submitted from overseas countries, including the United States, Russia, Italy, Britain, France and Canada.

Some 70 micro films were selected by a judging panel as outstanding works. The panel consisted of more than 20 senior experts and artists in the film industry.
