Porcelain Tower Relics Park opens in Nanjing

The tower was one of the most well-known Chinese cultural heritages in Western societies thanks to the introduction by Johan Nieuhof, a renowned Dutch traveler in the 17th century, in his illustrative and informative China memoirs. European businessmen, tourists and missionaries used to compare it with the Roman Colosseum, the Alexander the Great-era Tomb and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, calling it one of the Seven Wonders of the World during medieval times.
