Colorful landscapes

Fifty paintings by Luo Weimin are on show at Zhu Qizhan Art Museum. Luo uses high saturation colors and bold brushwork that is so gleeful, that viewers cannot help but feel his passion when pondering his landscapes. Curator Huang Azhong praised Luo for his rich imagination and the free combination of Chinese and Western expressions. Luo is an interior designer who turned to creative art only a few years ago.

Shakespeare's world

Revel's World of Shakespeare is a one-man show by Joseph Graves, the artistic director of the PKU Institute of World Theatre and Film. The show was written and will be performed by Graves, who draws heavily on his personal experiences with Shakespearean plays from his childhood at London's Chelsea School for Boys, studying under the tutelage of Clive Revel. The alcoholic professor viewed Shakespeare as a religion.

Sounds of Buddhism

Artists from India will perform Buddhist music together with the musicians from Shanghai’s Jade Buddha Temple. Musicians from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music will also participate, presenting their new compositions. Among the fi ve performers from India, Murad Ali and Fateh Ali are both traditional Indian instrumentalists and Deborshee Bhattacharjee is a chant singer.
