Reclamation of rivers and lakes on the fast track

Ningbo government is gearing up reclamation of rivers and lakes in the city.

As a historical port city, Ningbo in Zhejiang province used to impress people by its abundant and pellucid water resources.

However, along with the rapid modernization during the past years, the local authorities failed to attach equal importance to the ecological protection. Many rivers have been polluted or even filled up using economic development as a pretext.
