Being Mumbai born and bred, I can identify with much of Slumdog Millionaire. No, I did not grow up in a slum, never jumped in a pool of feces for an actor's autograph (or anybody else's for that matter) and I definitely paid enough attention in history class to know that the Taj Mahal in Agra is not a "five-star hotel".
