"I believe our culture and music should be spread to the whole world," says Maimaitituerxun Maman, known for performing in the epic musical, Manas, playing a local instrument in China's Xinjiang called?komuz. He translated the tradition musical into Mandarin to help more people understand and appreciate this heritage.
"The vitality of a dancer can last until the final moment of his life," said Yumiti, a dancer from China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. From leaving home at 12 to train in Beijing to fame with his dance piece A Lovely Rose, and dancing at the Spring Festival Gala, he constantly explores how dance can represent Xinjiang and resonate with people of all backgrounds.
Kashgar's clay pottery is called the art of the mud. As the sixth-generation clay pottery artisan, Tuerxun Zunong not only passes down his skills to his child but also shares the charm of this ancient art form with global visitors.
