One-armed courier impresses villagers with punctuality

Wang Yanpo, 39, is known to many in his local village as the one-armed courier.

They are used to receiving and sending parcels with Wang's help at Zhaizhen town, Luoyang city, Central China's Henan province.

Wang lost his left hand in 2000 in an accident.

"The accident happened 12 days after my son was born in 2000. I felt I could not survive that. However, my wife insisted on encouraging me to cheer up," Wang said.

For a while he managed his family responsibilities by doing part-time jobs and receiving subsidies.

In 2010, he got the idea of opening a courier shop at his village after he saw the booming express industry in downtown.

From 7am to 9pm, Wang rides a second-hand electro-tricycle to deliver villagers parcels. He carries them with his lower jaw and right hand. On wintery days, Wang leaves the tricycle by the roadside, carries the parcels and walks to villagers' homes.

Since he always deliver packages on time, Wang's courier shop has gained more and more business.

Nowadays, Wang employs two staff, but he still insists on delivering parcels on his own.

"I feel very satisfied and lucky to have so many people's help and support," Wang said.
