1. Shangri-La Grand Canyon, Balagezong, Yunnan province
When talking about Shangri-La, people would think about the most well known Haba Snow Mountain, Potatso National Park, and the Meili Mountain. Every year, many tourists would flock to these attractions and this may have boosted local economic development but also made a negative impact on local ecological systems as well as natural beauty.
However, with less commercial development projects, Balagezong still keeps its original appearance. It is called the last retreat away from the turmoil of the world in Shangri-La.
It only takes a three-hour drive from another tourist attraction, Lijiang of Yunnan province.
