Yuan Baocheng, Dongguan mayor and deputy to the National People's Congress, is besieged by journalists and buried in the questions about the local anti-prostitution crackdown in Beijing on March 3, 2014, during the annual "two sessions" – the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Yuan did not answer the questions but said to the journalists with smile,"Thanks to your hard work". On Feb 9, police launched a citywide crackdown on prostitution in Dongguan, South China's Guangdong province, after a television news report exposed a rampant underground sex trade in the city during the Spring Festival holiday.
